The Commission Scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys (CSMB) is the second largest school network in Quebec with more than 75,000 students, 48,000 of whom are in elementary and secondary schools, in 102 schools (75 elementary schools, 14 high schools, 3 specialized schools, 6 vocational training centres and 4 adult education centres). The CSMB is one of five school boards on the island of Montreal (Quebec, Canada). It is governed by a council of 13 commissioners and a presidency elected by universal suffrage, as well as by four commissioners representing parents. The latter are appointed by the Central Parents’ Committee; their term of office is one year. Diane Lamarche-Venne is the current president of the CSMB.

Technology Programs

Learning the mechanic trade means not only investing in the future, but also in an enriching experience.

This business is evolving rapidly with new computer and ecological technologies. You will learn through these new technologies to diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical components. You will also learn to be involved in all aspects of repairing and maintaining a motor vehicle.

Duration: 16 months of training and an internship


A career in photography is perfect for those who want to express themselves and showcase their creativity. In the age of digital images, experienced teachers are training high-performing professionals who will work on their own or as part of a creative team in private companies.

Our graduates work in various prestigious sectors including fashion, advertising, journalism, industrial photography, etc.

Duration: Approximately 16 months (1,800 hours)


At a time when telecommunications are omnipresent, training in the Installation and Repair of Telecommunications Equipment provides our students with a high placement rate and an exciting and forward-looking profession. In a learning environment adapted to workplace situations and integrating new technologies, our program trains qualified specialized technicians.

Demand for computer support operators is very high and the industry offers competitive salaries. Computer support operators assist in the basic installation and operation of computer equipment.

Students in building design have a strong interest in architecture. Perfectionists, they have the perfect profile to perform tasks requiring great attention to detail. Our program aims to train draftsmen who use drawing software at the cutting edge of technological advances.

The software used is AutoCAD, Revit architecture, Revit MEP and Revit structure. Our graduates work in sectors such as architecture, engineering, building mechanics and construction.

Duration of the training: about 16 months including 4 weeks of internship (1800 hours)


The trades related to Industrial Design training are intended for those who have a strong sense of observation.

Our graduates work in multidisciplinary teams in close collaboration with designers and engineers. They are recruited by major companies: engineering firms, construction companies, machinery manufacturers, etc.

The trades related to the training in Industrial Mechanics of Construction and Maintenance are tailor-made for those with strong logic and who are curious by nature.

These future industrial mechanics technicians work in advanced sectors such as pulp and paper, food processing, textiles, manufacturing of industrial equipment, etc.

Duration: 16 months including 3 weeks of internship (1 800 hours)


The professions related to welding and assembly training are intended for those who love physical work and have a strong technical sense. Our program trains highly specialized professionals in a state-of-the-art factory school.

Our graduates work in SMEs and international companies in the automotive, aeronautics, aerospace, mining and other sectors.

Duration: Approximately 16 months, including 3 weeks of internship (1,800 hours)


The professions related to interior design and visual presentation training are intended for creative minds who wish to put their artistic talent at the service of people.

In an environment conducive to creativity, recognized teachers working in the arts field train design and visual presentation professionals. Our graduates work in a stimulating and constantly evolving work environment. They are self-employed or working in decoration centres, retail stores and large companies.

The training lasts approximately 16 months, including 4 weeks of internship (1,800 hours).

To be admitted to this program you must:

  • Have a High School diploma
  • Have successfully completed BLI French Level 8
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • A copy of a valid passport
  • A copy of your birth certificate in English or French, notarized and translated
  • A copy of your Hight school diploma and transcript in English or French, notarized and translated
  • A copy of CAQ
  • A copy of study permit
  • Proof of French level (BLI level or official exam)
