Test d’Évaluation de Français pour l’accès au Québec
Description

Le Test d’Évaluation de Français pour l’accès au Québec (TEFAQ) is a general French test which aims to measure the candidate’s level of knowledge and ability in the French language.

The TEFAQ test is recognized by the Quebec Ministry for Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion (MIDI) and it is essential for an official immigration application.

 

The official TEFAQ attestation shows the distribution of scores for each module taken along with detailed comments for the different competencies.

 

It is your responsibility to check with IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) or MIDI (Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion) which modules you need to take.

 

The TEFAQ is used mainly for Quebec immigration purposes requiring a B2 level (upper intermediate).

 

The TEFAQ, used to assess your oral and written competencies in French, consists of 4 modules.

 

All modules should be taken the same day.

Procedure

You must read the registration conditions before registering. By completing the registration form, and making the payment, you accept these conditions.

 

Steps

 

Complete the online registration form and make the payment.

 

All registrations are processed online.

 

  • Please check your choice of modules before registering as no fees are refundable.
  • No changes will be allowed.
  • Candidates must respect a one-month waiting period between exam dates. If this 30-day waiting period is not respected, the examination fee will be forfeited as there will be no refunds or changes.

 

After your registration

 

We will send you a confirmation letter by email. It is important to arrive at the centre 15 minutes before the time indicated in your letter. No late arrivals will be accepted.

 

The day of the exam

 

Please present yourself to the address/addresses indicated in your confirmation letter:

 

On the day of the exam, you must bring the following documents with you:

 

  • The conformation letter of invitation sent by the centre
  • A valid passport (or ID with picture and signature)

 

Please note that there may be waiting times on the day of the exam. Plan to spend a full day at the centre, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, if necessary.

 

After the exam

 

You can expect your results within 4 to 6 weeks after the exam.

Preparation courses

BLI TEFAQ preparation course is focused on helping you develop the skills you need to succeed on the oral and listening modules of the test. You will work intensively on French language fluency and accuracy, expand your vocabulary and develop your listening skills.

Points and evaluation

The evaluation system of TEF Canada and TEFAQ exams is the following:
  • good answer : + 1 point
  • bad answer : 0 point
  • no answer : 0 point

Both TEF Canada and TEFAQ assign points for the immigration process on ​​the following scale:

Test d’Évaluation de Français adapté au CANADA
Description

The Test d’Évaluation de Français (TEF) Canada is a general French test that determines the level of knowledge and skills in the oral and written understanding and expression of French.

 

The official TEF Canada certificate indicates the distribution of scores for each module taken along with detailed comments on the different skills and is recognized by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

 

TEF Canada consists of 4 modules.

All modules should be taken the same day.

 

If you are applying for citizenship, you will need both oral comprehension and oral expression at a B2 (intermediate) level.

 

If you are applying for permanent residence in Canada, all four modules of the exam are required.
